Initial situation

A completely new product line based on a common technical platform had to be developed for the PFAFF brand, from the very basis up to the high end. It was the aim to develop a system design with trendsetting innovations and high brand recognition by means of a brand-specific design. A formal line that should find its culmination in a top-of-the-line model.
Idea

The basic idea was to optimize the working process by maximizing the manual and visual workspace. This task required the redefinition of the technical concept. By increasing the »C-room« not only a spacious manual workspace was created but also new proportions and ergonomic conditions. The design of a huge front panel that can be varied by using different materials and graphic designs, should ideally complete this manual area as an informative level. An aesthetically high-quality level for both, the communicative as well as the creative process.
